Workspaces are flexible student groupings you create based on whatever makes sense for your classroom — by period, subject, skill level, intervention group, or anything else. Create as many as you need, assign sessions to a whole group at once, and monitor everyone's progress from a single table. Students can belong to multiple workspaces, just one, or none.
The Workspaces Page at a Glance
After logging in, you will land on the Workspaces tab where you'll see your workspace tiles across the top — one card per group, showing the subject tag and student count. Below sits the full student table, your central roster for tracking assignment progress across everyone. Use the progress bar to determine which students you'd like to take a closer look at or what workspaces you want to assign sessions to. You can select a student's hyperlink to open a new tab with their Insights page.
Step 1 — Land on the Workspaces Tab
After logging in, you land on the Workspaces tab, seeing your student table with any workspace tiles displayed above it.
Step 2 — Create Workspaces
Click Add Workspace in the top-right corner. Enter a name, select a subject, and click Save. Your new workspace tile appears immediately. There's no limit — create as many as you need. Common groupings include class periods, skill levels, intervention groups, or subject areas.
Once a workspace exists, add students in either of two ways:
- Select from the table — check boxes next to individual students in your roster, then assign to the workspace
- Import a CSV — upload a spreadsheet with student names, emails, and grade levels to add multiple students at once
Step 3 — Read the Student Table
The student table is your full roster. Every student appears here whether or not they belong to a workspace. Each row shows:
- Student Name — click to go directly to that student's Insights page
- Workspace — which group(s) the student belongs to
- Assignment Progress — a color-coded progress bar: Green = Completed, Blue = In Progress, Grey = Not Started, Red = Past Due
Step 4 — Search, Filter, and Export
Three tools sit above the student table:
- Search bar — type any part of a student or workspace name to filter the table instantly
- Filter — opens advanced options to sort by workspace, incomplete sessions, past-due status, and more. A Filters applied label appears when active, with a Clear All link to reset everything
- Export CSV — downloads your current table view as a spreadsheet
Two quick-action buttons also sit above the table:
- Show Students with Past Due Assignments — one click to filter to only students with overdue work
- View All Students — clears any active filters and returns to the full roster
Step 5 — Toggle Between Student and Workspace Views
The Student and Workspace toggle buttons switch between two different ways to read your data:
- Student view — the default; every student appears as an individual row in the full roster
- Workspace view — a roll-up that collapses students into their workspace groups, so you can see aggregate assignment progress per group at a glance. Students who belong to multiple workspaces appear in each relevant group.
Step 6 — Drill Into a Workspace
Click any workspace tile to open a filtered view showing only the students in that group.
From here you can:
- Add students — search by name, use checkboxes, or import via CSV
- Remove students — removes them from this workspace only; their roster entry and full session history stay intact
- Edit the workspace — rename it or change the subject using the pencil icon on the tile
- Delete the workspace — remove the entire group using the trash icon; no student data is affected
- Click any student's name — jumps directly to their Insights page
